COMPANY BACKGROUND
Listed below you will find company background information and a few of the qualifications that set us apart from other roofing companies.
1.) Cedar Roof Design is a fully licensed and insured roofing company. We are also licensed at carpentry and gutters, so in the event that a problem or an unforeseen circumstance arises, we are legally able and fully qualified to resolve it.
2.) Cedar Roof Design is unique in that it specializes solely in cedar shakes and shingles. It takes time and experience to develop a trained and qualified crew of shake roofers. Wood roofing is very different and frankly, most other companies just don’t install enough wood roofs to acquire the necessary skill level. We specialize in all aspects of installing, repairing and maintaining cedar roofs. Our crew is comprised of trained wood roofers who take pride in their work and the unique service that they provide.
3.) Cedar Roof Design an affiliated member of the Cedar Shake and Shingle Bureau. The Bureau is the recognized authority in all Building Code manuals. We deal only in products certified and graded by the Bureau.
4.) Cedar Roof Design buys all of its cedar products direct from Washington & British Columbia. Dealing direct enables us to provide a high quality product but still keep our cost down by eliminating the distributor and the lumber yard.
5.) Cedar Roof Design uses only Maze brand double dipped, galvanized nails.
Each nail is of the correct type and placed in the correct location.
6.) Our reputation for providing quality products and services has given us the opportunity to work all over the State of Michigan. (See attached references)
7.) Although we mention it only as a measure of our ability, Cedar Roof Design is one of the few companies in the United State, experienced and capable of installing the intricate and artistic cedar wave course roof developed during the 1920’s. Rapidly becoming a lost art, this technique requires tremendous craftsmanship and knowledge to produce the final artistic illusion. (see photo album)
8.) Cedar Roof Design has a very good reputation for maintaining a clean job site. We realize that our line of work can often create large messes and we always staff enough personnel to provide a thorough cleaning during and after the project. Debris in the work area is not only unsightly but a potential hazard.
